Hand sculpture Time passes
This is a sculpture of hands that refers to the inexorable passage of time. The clock seems to be melting and slipping away through our hands. It's a way of reminding us that, while it's true that time passes and we can't control it, how we manage it and how we use it is up to us. Ultimately, and regardless of each individual's circumstances, time is in our hands, and we ourselves are responsible for how we use it. Ángeles Anglada , the creator of this work, once again references Dalí and his famous painting "The Persistence of Memory." The great Spanish painter, known worldwide for both his mastery and his eccentric nature, influenced not only pictorial art but also, as we can see here, other forms of art, including sculpture.
The hand sculpture "Time Passes" is made of quartz and resin. The sculptor used different types of finishes: patinated bronze for the hands, while she chose aged gold bronze for the clock.
This contemporary sculpture of hands was entirely made in Spain. The piece measures 25 x 11 x 26 cm.
You are our Pharaoh, you pursue us wherever we are,
you challenge our thoughts,
and if we lose you, we will never get you back.
